Re: counseling about vitamin E foods as well. The mechanism
that vitamin E interacts with vitamin K activity is not known (1). In some, but
not all, there is an increase in bleeding risks (1) . If you are on warfarin, a
recommendation I found says that taking more than 1000 IU a day of vitamin E
can increase risk of bleeding, and that 800 IUs may be safe for those on warfarin
(2).
